Why Increase Rates?

The typical residential rate -- $1.97 per month -- hasn't changed since 1997. The District needs a rate increase to keep up with inflation and wear and tear on our aging stormwater pipes, canals, and pump stations, and to implement new regulatory requirements, such as installing trash capture devices.
