Collection System

Almost uniquely in California, Vallejo Flood & Wastewater District maintains the collection system (the sewer pipes that lead from properties to the wastewater treatment plant). In most municipalities where there is a separate sewer agency, the city's public works department maintains the sewer lines.

The District also maintains the stormwater pipes in Vallejo, which channel rainwater quickly to the nearest creek, lake, or the Mare Island and Carquinez Straits.

More than 450 miles of sewer pipes and 250 miles of stormwater pipes are maintained by our Field Operations Department.
